ISO 14064-1:2018
Specification with guidance at the organisation level for quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and removals.
What is ISO 14064-1?
ISO 14064-1 specifies principles and requirements at the organisation level for the quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and removals.
The standard requires organisations to identify their direct GHG emissions (Scope 1), energy indirect emissions (Scope 2) and other indirect emissions (Scope 3), establish quantification methodologies, calculate emissions using appropriate emission factors, and report results in a GHG inventory that can be independently verified.
ISO 14064-1 is aligned with the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard and is widely used as the basis for mandatory and voluntary GHG reporting, emissions trading schemes and corporate sustainability disclosures.
Covers all direct and indirect emission sources across the organisation.
Structured approach covering all three emission scope categories.
Designed to produce inventories that can be independently verified under ISO 14064-3.
Compatible with the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard for seamless reporting.
Used as the basis for mandatory GHG reporting regimes worldwide.
ISO 14064-1 Clause Structure
The standard guides organisations through the complete process of establishing, quantifying and reporting their GHG inventory.
